Lawyers for Vanessa Bryant have filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the company that operated the helicopter that crashed in California last month while carrying her husband Kobe Bryant, daughter Gianna and seven others, killing all on board. The suit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleges that Island Express Helicopters allowed the flight quote “with full knowledge that the subject helicopter was flying into unsafe weather conditions.” The investigation into the crash is still ongoing. A spokesperson for Island Express has said quote “This was a tragic accident,” but had no comment on pending litigation.

The YMCA of El Paso and local anti-smoking groups will be hosting two escape rooms as part of a day of action against vaping for teens and families. The “Escape The Vape” escape rooms will be held on Saturday, March 7, at the Fred Loya YMCA of El Paso at 2044 Trawood to educate community members on the harms and legal consequences of vaping. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control have issued warnings to communities and the American public at large to prepare for possible outbreaks of the Novel Coronavirus, now officially known as COVID-19. All known cases in the U.S. are currently in isolation in hospitals, but officials are saying that the chances of an outbreak are more a question of when, and not if, it will happen. The C.D.C. says Americans should plan now for significant disruption to their daily lives and “social distancing measures” such as working from home, cancelling meetings and closing schools.
