Texans To Vote On Eight Constitutional Amendments In November

Texas voters will decide on eight proposed amendments to the state Constitution in the November election. State lawmakers approved the addition of the amendments to the ballot, with proposition numbers to be decided later. The amendments will deal with designation of essential caregivers, religious services in a pandemic, property tax exemptions for the spouse of a soldier killed in combat, whether somebody with a suspended or revoked law license can be a judge, and several other matters. Texans have approved more than 500 amendments, making the state Constitution one of the nation's longest.
