A North Texas school district is becoming the first to require masks, despite an order from Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Dallas Independent School District Superintendent Michael Hinojosa announced the move today putting the blame on the COVID Delta strain and the fact younger students can't get the vaccine. Hinojosa says Abbott's mask ban is "very loose" and allows districts to create safety rules for staff and students. Houston ISD is also considering a mask requirement with a vote expected this week.
