Trinity Rodman, born on May 20, 2002, in Newport Beach, California, is a professional soccer player who has made a significant impact on the sport at a young age. She plays for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT). Rodman is also the daughter of five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman.
Rodman began playing soccer at the age of four and quickly showed a competitive streak. She joined the SoCal Blues youth club team at the age of 9 and led the team to four national youth championships in the Elite Clubs National League. Despite her father's absence from her life, Rodman has said that she knows he is proud of her.
In 2021, at the age of 18, Rodman was drafted by the Washington Spirit as the second overall pick in the NWSL Draft, making her the youngest player ever drafted in the league. In her rookie season, she scored seven goals and added seven assists, leading the Spirit to their first league title and earning herself the title of NWSL Rookie of the Year.
Rodman has also represented the U.S. at the international level, playing in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and expected to play in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris. Despite her young age, she has already been nominated for the Ballon d’Or Féminin award, given annually to the world's top women’s soccer player.
Off the field, Rodman is known for her advocacy for social justice. She has used her platform to create positive change and inspire young individuals across the globe. She has also published a children's book titled Wake Up and Kick It with Trinity Rodman to inspire kids to pursue their passion, no matter their obstacles or doubts.
