Born on September 29, 1988, in Washington, D.C., Kevin Durant's basketball talent was evident from a young age. After a decorated high school career, Durant played just one season at the University of Texas, earning the Player of the Year award, before declaring himself eligible for the 2007 NBA Draft.

Drafted second overall by the Seattle SuperSonics, Durant quickly became the face of the franchise, earning multiple All-Star selections. In the 2013-2014 season, he was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player as the Thunder reached the Western Conference final.

In 2016, Durant signed for the Golden State Warriors, leading the team to consecutive NBA titles in 2017 and 2018, winning Finals MVP both times. He eventually joined the Brooklyn Nets in 2019 before moving to the Phoenix Suns in 2023.

Durant has also enjoyed great success for the United States men's national team. He is the highest-scoring player in men's Olympic basketball history, breaking Carmelo Anthony's record at Tokyo 2020. Durant is one of only two men to win three gold medals in basketball, with the other being Anthony. Durant is set to participate in his fourth Games at Paris 2024.

Off the court, Durant established the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation, which aims to enrich the lives of at-risk youth from low-income backgrounds through educational, athletic, and social programs.
