Scottie Scheffler, a prominent figure in the golf world, has made a swift ascent to the top. Starting 2022 as a rising star on the PGA Tour, Scheffler had no title wins and was ranked 13th globally. However, by April, he had secured four PGA Tour titles, including a maiden win at the Masters, catapulting him to the top of the World Golf Ranking.

Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Scheffler moved to Dallas, Texas, at age six, where his passion for golf began to flourish. He dominated at the youth level, winning 75 events between 2004 and 2010. While at Highland Park High School, Scheffler won three consecutive individual state titles from 2012-14, following in the footsteps of Jordan Spieth.

Scheffler's golf career continued to thrive at the University of Texas, where he helped the team win three Big 12 championships and was named Freshman of the Year. He turned professional in late 2018 and won three titles on the Korn Ferry Tour in his first full year, earning a PGA Tour card for the 2020 season.

In August 2020, Scheffler shot a 59 at the Northern Trust, the 12th sub-60 round in PGA history, and was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. His consistent performances earned him a spot in the USA's victorious 2021 Ryder Cup team.

Scheffler's success continued into 2022, winning his first PGA Tour title at the Phoenix Open in February. He went on to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the WGC Match Play, and his first major triumph at the Masters, beating Rory McIlroy by three shots. These victories propelled him to the top of the world rankings.

In 2023, Scheffler retained his Phoenix Open title and secured a first victory in golf's unofficial fifth major, the PLAYERS Championship at Sawgrass. His game reached new heights in 2024, winning four out of five tournaments, including the Masters at Augusta and the RBC Heritage.

Scheffler is set to make his Olympic debut at Paris 2024, where he is one of the favorites for gold.
