Doug Gottlieb Blasts Critics of Aaron Rodgers Who Say He's Past His Prime
Doug Gottlieb: “If I’m going to play this Sunday and I need a quarterback, you tell me anyone in this league outside Pat Mahomes you’d rather have? If you were to give Aaron Rodgers Pat Mahomes’ coaching staff and personnel how good with that offense be? You give him Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins, the laundry list of running backs, and Andy Reid as his coach, how good are the Kansas City Chiefs? Think that works?? Aaron Rodgers and a bunch of dudes won 13 games last year… It’s a really interesting case study into how people have said that Rodgers has fallen off. Some of it is body language, some of it is perception – he’s ‘perceived’ as a guy who ran Mike McCarthy out of town. I’m sure his skill sets on some level have diminished, but so have Brady’s and so has Brees', and they don’t seem to be critiqued at the same level as Rodgers. I don’t see it, I don’t get it, and I don’t really understand it. If there is a guy who has ‘haters’ in the NFL, I’d say Aaron Rodgers is one of them.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Doug Gottlieb explain why he thinks the discord towards the deterioration of Aaron Rodgers’ prime years has been greatly exaggerated, as Doug discusses a recent article from Mike Sando of The Athletic that had a rival defensive coordinator in the NFC North say that Rodgers is still a top 5 QB, and added ‘I don’t want to f*** with that guy.'

Check out the audio above as Gottlieb details why he doesn’t think Rodgers’ skill sets have eroded at the pace that his biggest critics have tried to slap on him, and says that Patrick Mahomes is really the only guy he would take Rodgers if you needed one win to save your life.
